This is a campaign to provide the frozen people of North West Ireland with the ability to relax through yoga, massage, sound bathing and the simplest of all Warming Up in amazing scenic locations that the northwest has to offer.

 

To provide this opportunity all year long, as our winters come long and stay longer. Let us bring back the ancient traditions of the sweat lodges and rejuvenate the people of the northern parts of Ireland.

 

 I want to bring this lifestyle experience to others as a way of managing and maintaining good mental health. It is an aim to reconnect people with thier outer environment and utilise the amazing area we live and love in.

This vision has already been realised in the south of Ireland with the Bosca Beatha crowd, and with thanks to Shirley for being so generous with her idea and allowing me to apply for funding. They have been spreading thier magic in the far corners of Ireland, now it is time for the Northen parts to partake in the feeling of warmth on a regular basis. The vision would be that this sauna can be used by the community and those who need it the most.Although Shirley has built a beautiful sauna on wheels, (see picture below), It is our vision to build our sauna in a fibreglass hulled boat. We could still bring this to scenic locations on land but we have the added diversity of being able to acess our fantanic resorces of lakes and rivers. We hope to bring this vision to the Irish waterways.

Groups I would love to host with this idea are numerous but some groups are: active age, mens groups, womens group, learning networks, those with disabilities, disadvantaged groups such as homeless. That being said, I wish to make this sauna assessable to all. Its aim is to use it to support others in Their ideas, to enhace people's experience of the great outdoors

All that support will be entered into a superb draw for a day retreat for themselves and 5 of thier friends. The weekend retreat will involve a day of yoga, sound bathing meditation, sauna sweating and relaxation in a beautiful location.
